“I did not put my best self forward today!”

Have you ever gotten to the end of the day and reflected to yourself, “I did not put my best self forward today!”  As people of faith we are challenged to make choices – especially those that lead to life!

Jesus invites us to kick our game up a notch.  When we do meet his challenge and accept his invitation, we may not hit perfection (that’s pretty doggone high!) but can we at least get to the point where we can say, “Well, that was not my best self that I put forward today, but it was better than yesterday.  I will try again tomorrow -- with God's help.”

This week we’ll reflect on whether we are making choices that lead us in the right direction.

Following God has always been a choice – not just with the coming of Jesus. Back in the earliest Hebrew writings we are given choices: life and death, blessings and curses. “Choose life!” says the Lord.

Blessings on the journey,

"Seize the day!  Embrace the present!  Plan for the future! At all times, remain in God's presence, seek to follow Christ, and yearn for the direction of the Holy Spirit who will guide your steps all along the way."
