    As part of our Health and Wellness initiative at Mary Taylor –
    Yoga for Families – All ages welcome:

Yoga Latte – A unique blending of Yoga and Pilates, softened by a
touch of positive guided imagery and meditation.  One hour class
will increase flexibility and strength while reducing the effects of
our stress-filled environment.  Beginning to intermediate class level
– bring yoga mat if you have one, comfy clothes.

      INTERESTED IN TEACHING SUNDAY SCHOOL?

Sunday School Information Sessions are being offered on
Sunday, July 20th and Thursday, August 14th from
6 PM – 7:30 PM in Wesley Center.

These sessions, which are open to all in the congregation, but
is geared primarily to people who may be interested in
volunteer teaching opportunities for Sunday School. Sample
curriculum will be discussed. A panel of teachers will be
available to offer feedback about what rewards and
challenges they have experienced. A new teacher training
format will be discussed also. Teacher applications, ministry
descriptions and other general information about the Sunday
School ministry will be available. These information sessions
are the first of this kind to be offered at MTMUMC, and are
being offered in response to feedback from the Natural
Church Development cottage meetings as ideas for
empowering leaders in the congregation. All are welcome.
Refreshments will be served. Please register for the session
you will attend by contacting the church office at

               EDUCATION COMMITTEE

An Education Committee meeting is scheduled for
Wednesday,   July 16th at 7PM. We will discuss the
coming year’s calendar of events for Sunday
School, Safe Sanctuary, Teacher Training, and
other ideas. The Education Committee will meet
quarterly. Once we have our initial meeting, we will
publish the year’s meeting dates so everyone has
them in the calendar. This meeting is open to anyone
interested in programming decisions for the Sunday
School program. All are welcome!

               
Safe Sanctuary Training

Courses have been scheduled  as follows:
Saturday, August 9th from 9-11
Sunday, August 17th from 6-8PM
Thursday, August 28th from 6-8PM

This course, which is mandatory for all teachers
and optional for all others in the congregation, will
review the Safe Sanctuary Policy of MTMUMC.
Appropriate and inappropriate behavior will be
covered, including physical safety issues, potential
abuse allegations, and protocol for reporting any
exceptions to policy. Please register for this course
by contacting the church office. . Deadline for
registration is 3 days prior to the date of the training

  • Volunteers are still needed!  The next
    volunteer meeting will be held Tues. Aug. 5th
    in the Sanctuary.  
  • A decorating session will be held on Sunday,
    Aug. 17th after Punchbowl.  Join us!
  • This years mission project will be the
    Chinese earthquake disaster relief.

God's  extravagant welcome.
