| BACK BY POPULAR DEMAND Some couldn’t make it last Lent. Some want to do it again. So we will! The Tuesday PM/Wednesday AM Adult Lenten Study will be “24 Hours That Changed the World”, a powerful book by Adam Hamilton. The seven 90 minute sessions will be led by Pastor Hal Vink. Please come to an introductory meeting on Tuesday, February 21, 7:15 PM or Wednesday, February 22, 10:00 AM both at Wesley Center. Materials will be handed out and information shared. “The aim of this book is to help you better understand the events that occurred during the last 24 hours of Jesus’ life, see more clearly the theological significance of Christ’s suffering and death, and reflect upon the meaning of these events for your life. Writing this book and creating the videos on location in Jerusalem have deepened my own faith and my sense of love and gratitude for Jesus Christ. I pray that reading this book will have the same effect on you.”---- Adam Hamilton. | The Bible For Beginners The Bible Study for those with limited or no experience in Bible Study is back, this time with the focus on the New Testament. Written by Donald Griggs (not directly related to our beloved Tom), this study will teach us about the Gospels, the Letters, and the Revelation. It will help us to find texts, examine them in the light of other texts, use concordances, and come to more fully understand how the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus changed history. The course is seven sessions long, on Wednesdays at 7-8:30, and Thursdays at 10- 11:30. Dates of class will be Feb. 1/2, 8/9, 15/16, Feb 29/March 1, Mar 7/8, March 14/15, March 21/22. Please check in the church office for copies of the book, if you didn’t purchase them in the fall. Cost is $8.50 per book. |
