We are passing the baton of concern, caring, and tradition of the UMW from one generation to another. We are looking for junior members to be mentored by the senior members of the current UMW. Learn who they are, where they started, what they do and then help define where they are going as women in the United Methodist Church. For the Woman who finds meaning in her church and is drawn to its fellowship, who wants to combine fellowship with study, worship, and outreach opportunities. For the woman who feels she has gifts to offer that are to be shared with others, who seeks a supportive community to affirm her own sense of purpose and commitment to God...United Methodist Women invites you to: Grow spiritually through worship, Bible study, and prayer. Celebrate the person you are becoming in your journey with Jesus Christ and develop, as well as sustain, meaningful relationships. Share who you are and your gifts and then take action to make a difference in your community and the world. Our Purpose: As United Methodist Women we shall be a community of women whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as a person through Jesus Christ - develop creative, supportive fellowship - expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church. Joining this group, no matter who you are or where you are in your spiritual journey, is a unique opportunity to move in harmony with other women who have been responding to this purpose for over one hundred years. So come join us to pass along the rich tradition of the United Methodist Women. For more information, please contact JoAnne Talone or Dot Law through the church office - the number is at the bottom of this page. |

“TRASH & TREASURES—ROUND 2” Milford Oyster Festival SATURDAY, AUGUST 21 Mary Taylor MYF-Fundraiser HERE’S HOW YOU CAN HELP: #1) Donations would be appreciated, especially jewelry, household items and children, baby and men’s clothing. Please no women’s clothing, TV’s or computers. So if you missed cleaning out your closets before the June Fair, this is your second chance! Bring your donations to church on any Sunday or check with Bev Pierpoint to see when she and her faithful crew, (Dolly & Carol) might be down at church doing prep work. Please don’t wait until the last minute to make donations as it is nearly impossible for the staff to price these items and run Trash & Treasures (T&T) at the same time. #2) Volunteer your time to staff T&T during the Oyster Festival. We need MYFers, young adults, not-so young adults, the whole family! Bring a friend! We especially need some young and energetic folks at the beginning of the day (9AM-ish) to set up and also at the end of the day (4PM-ish) to break down. If you are coming to the Festival—why not spend a few hours at T&T? Contact Bev if you can help out. Proceeds from “T&T Round 2” will benefit Bodies' Place and our Youth Ministry. |
